FHA Announces $38 Million to Fight Housing Discrimination!

FHA announced today that they are awarding $38 million dollars to non-profit housing groups to aid in fighting housing discrimination. Many of those non-profits are legal assistance.

So the next question I thought of was “how will this affect lenders?”

I think this will assist the community leaders at these organizations to do more outreach in areas like mystery shopping and education regarding consumer rights. As a result you may want to be highly diligent in the areas of complaint management and consumer parity.

It is certainly my hope that you are mystery shopping your own front line, or paying someone to do it, as this is typically an area of fair lending that is a gaping hole in many organizations.
