Having just gotten back from the MBA Legal Issues Conference, I thought that Compliance people deserved a big ol’ hug from everyone in their company.
So I declare May 8th, “Hug Your Compliance Person Day”!
I have no idea if there is such a day on the calendar, but there should be. Chocolates and Flowers as a token of your thanks may need to be replaced with Wine or Vodka! Yet, I’m sure your compliance people would appreciate and be just fine with a “Thank You”, versus “That’s Stupid” in response to giving you a heads up on the regulatory front.
I’ll have more to share about what I found out at the conference. In the meantime, don’t forget the people who try to save your company a lot of money, keep you out of prison and keep the ship moving forward, without sinking in the muck of all the regulation out there.
